19 years, meant his tomb was probably designed for some other
lesser dignitary of the day, and hurriedly re-worked to accommodate
him. Filled with extraordinary treasures, many exquisite artworks
were re-discovered, and we have borrowed from them to make these
candlesticks!
Valley of the Kings, Egypt.18th Dynasty, c.1325 BC.
Holds
a 2 ½ inch-63mm candle, but can accommodate a 3 inch-76mm
candle. Wax moat on top and a channel at the back takes hot wax
to the well at the back. All our candlesticks have similar wax
well/moat features. Candle fits into the piece and is held firmly
in place by a small spike.
