Sigurd
the Dragon Slayer |

In
Viking legend, Sigurd was tricked by the sorcerer Regin into confronting
the dragon Fafnir, so that he could steal the beast’s treasure.
Regin forged a fine sword with which Sigurd killed the dragon, and
as Regin slept, Sigurd roasted the heart of the beast. Testing the
meat Sigurd burned his thumb, so he sucked it, and with that taste
of dragon’s blood he suddenly understood continued |

'Elm
Tree' Candlesticks |

first ‘Tree’ candlesticks design is fittingly a pair
of elegant elms. Named ‘The Lady of the Forest’ by early
American pioneers, who noted that Iroquois Natives used them to
make rope and canoes, elm trees can grow up to 115 feet tall and
live for 300 years. In recent decades 43 million elm continued |
